Ontario Pioneer Camp makes the Babble.com Best Camps in North America List!

Nothing makes a Monday morning better than seeing the camp you love so much make the 30 of the Best Camps in North America list on Babble.com. (An online magazine acquired by The Walt Disney Company in 2011)

Ontario Pioneer Camp {OPC} near Huntsville, Ontario is an amazing place to send your kids for summer camp!

Last year my kids experienced their first taste of a week-long sleepover camp at OPC. I was most worried about my youngest, who was six at the time. When I told him he was going away for a week, he was mad and yelled at me, “NO, I’m not going, you just want alone time {with Daddy}.” By the time I picked him up on the following Saturday, he didn’t want to leave the camp.

Since then we have spent a few weekends at OPC over the fall and winter seasons. They have some amazing programs throughout the year for the entire family to participate in.

My kids can’t wait to get back up there this summer! This time… it’s for TWO FULL WEEKS. I don’t know who is more excited, the kids or Mommy! 🙂

Located in the heart of the Muskoka area, Ontario Pioneer Camp offers camps for children, youth and families, as well as programs in leadership and faith development and wilderness adventure. Each day is packed with fun adventures, invitations to learn about God, and activities like sailing, horseback riding, swimming, and rock climbing. Pioneer Camp has over 80 years of camping experience, is built on 1200 acres of waterfront property, and has over 2500 campers and families attend each summer.

Ontario Pioneer Camp is a part of Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship of Canada which operates nine summer camps across Canada. For more information, availability or rates, please visit Ontario Pioneer Camp.

I remember camp when I was younger, one of the funnest times I've had and I would love for my kids to get the same experience.

  9. Wow, that's a great list. How fortunate that your kids get to go there.

I spent 12 full summers at a camp in Algonquin Park (near Hunstville) and the other 28 years I've been going up to visit.

Camp is a huge part of who I am. The learning experiences and friendships have lasted a lifetime. I hope that my kids will get to go to camp (any camp) at some point.

Can't wait to hear about your kids adventures.
