This will be my very first time sending ALL FOUR kids to overnight summer camp!! Do you or have you let your kids go to overnight camp??!
Growing up we had the opportunity to go with my church youth group {in high school} for a weekend of camping and it was always an incredible experience. I received an award one year for asking the question, “What’s a canoe?” I’m sure my canoe-head hubby would not have given me the time of day if we’d met back then!!
We take our kids camping every year and our oldest gets to go on quite adventurous week-long camping/canoeing/portaging trips with their dad in our Province’s lake region, but we’ve never sent them away ~ dropped them off and picked them up a week later ~ at a camp ever before!
I’m kinda excited! I know it will be a new thing for them but I know they’ll have a blast. After watching the Pioneer Camps videos… seriously… how can they not?!
When we told the kids where they were going this summer, squeals of joy could be heard all around, until it set in for Jake, our 6 year old, that I wasn’t going with him… that’s when we heard…
“NO, I’m not going… you just want alone time!!”

I never went to camp! I wish I did. Sounds like I missed out on things!
I love this! I went to summer camp when I was a kid. I used to go with a few of my best friends. It was so much fun! I'm hoping when my little one gets older, she'll be going too!
My son will go to an overnight camp this year! He is looking forward to it! I am just a bit scared!
My kiddos have all 3 gone for overnight, weekend, and now week long summer camps. They LOVE it! The first time, with my oldest, was a bit nerve racking because of all her allergy issues. So after that, every other one has been easy! LOL!
I've only been to camp once… with my family… and LOVED it. So I'd totally send my kids when they are old enough. Just for the alone time, as you say. 🙂
I went to camp a few years in a row. Mostly we did day camps though. My kids weren't interested at all. They are typically stressed out by the idea, but then we did the muskokawoods trip and now they soo want to go!!
It was a lot of fun!!

I never went to an overnight camp, but always wanted to. That's probably why I now love camping trips lol
My kids are too young still but I hope that someday they want to go to camp! I went as a child and loved it!!
