Doesn’t my hubby look rather delighted?! He has been waiting for this moment for a very, very long time. I finally agreed that we could trade in “The Beast”, our 2000 Pontiac Montana, for a truck but with one stipulation, it had to fit all six of us comfortably. The 2012 GMC Sierra SLE checked off all the boxes. 

When my husband wants something, he researches and researches and looks for the best deal. I mean the absolute bottom dollar deal that still gives him all the bells and whistles that he wants.  I knew he was serious when I found this taped to our family room doors….

All his life he has driven the “responsible” vehicle. After University, he got his first full-time job at the ripe old age of 21, working as a youth pastor for a church near Ottawa, he went to purchase a car, a 2 seater sports car. He was strongly advised by his boss that that kind of car would not do for the line of work he was in, so he purchased 4 door sedan. This way he could transport other people’s kids here, there and everywhere. 

Maybe turning 45 this year has done something to him, but for the first time in his life he’s not thinking about anyone else outside of our own immediate family. I think that’s a good thing, it’s about time we do something that is just for us. Right?!

Using his mad-deal-making-skillz, he managed to find a MASSIVE deal at a dealership just outside of our city, about 20 minutes in the country {New Hamburg}. Trust me when I say, he visited each and every lot in our region. It’s funny that he ended up at the same dealership where we purchased our first family vehicle 12 years ago. It’s true what they say, just like eggs… cars are cheaper in the country!

You made his dream come true… well almost… there’s still the matter of that Sea-Doo…
