There’s no way I’ll be able to do this as a Wordless Wednesday post! Wordless… LOL! 🙂 When something fantastic like this happens… you can’t describe it merely by posting pictures! If you don’t know the details behind why he did what he did, read… “We found the secret to a happy life…” to get all caught up.
Tonight we had Quinton’s 13th birthday party celebration in support of ROOF with #50teens4christmas. Over 40 kids and many of their parents managed to brave the freezing rain to come out to play floor hockey, dodge ball and to eat cake.
What is ROOF? “Reaching Our Outdoor Friends (ROOF) is committed to providing for the safety, support, and overall well-being of homeless youths and youths-at-risk, age 12-25, in the Waterloo Region.”
Even a few of my friends via Twitter came out to show their support!
Quinton received over $350 worth of gift cards to Tim Horton’s, McDonald’s & Shopper’s Drug Mart. Plus coats, shoes, mitts, toothbrushes, lip balm and a few other items. Some couldn’t make it out tonight because of the weather but will be dropping off gift cards at our house this week. I’ll give you an updated total before Q delivers it to the organizers of #50teens4christmas. 🙂
Thanks again to Melissa from Foodlovekw.ca for inspiring us to participate in #50teens4christmas! She even baked Q a special cake!!! How’d you know that green is his favourite colour?! How wonderful is she?!
Please excuse my excessive use of exclamation points in this post but come on… seriously… if this was your kid, wouldn’t you be incredibly – outrageously thrilled?!!!!
