Hello family & friends,

Our oldest son is going to Lima, Peru from July 9-23, 2011 with two other Junior High youth from our church. This Mission’s trip is specifically geared to those between the ages of 11 and 13 year old.

So far Quinton has been collecting bottles, selling cupcakes and saving his birthday and Christmas money to help pay for this trip. He is very excited to be going.

Before he was born, I was around 15 weeks along when God gave us a Scripture verse for him, 1 Kings 5:7b, “May the Lord be praised today. He has given David a wise son to rule this great nation.”  Read more about my miracle boy…

So I’m sending him to the nations! Lima, Peru … here he comes!

The Need
Stand in the middle of a square in Lima and you will see many things; dirty streets, busy marketplaces, hundreds of taxis, hungry kids and millions of people in need of hope and love. Peruvians have binding religious beliefs ranging from ancient Incan beliefs to traditions of Catholicism. As soon as you set foot in Peru, you will feel welcomed by the beautiful people. You will also discover that most are desperate to receive the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The Call
Using skits, music, and drama to attract revival-size crowds, your team will share the Gospel with hundreds in the city. Block by block you will strategically help the local church proclaim Christ to this nation. Peru is fertile ground to preach the good news, pray for the sick, and experience God’s power to heal! Experience the culture, maybe even eat some guinea pig, and see God move through you in a country where miracles still happen!

The total trip will cost approximately $2,500 USD. Half of that is due before May 15, 2011. Then we have to get him to Texas and home on our own, that portion could cost a few hundred if we leave from Buffalo or Detroit. Donations for that part of the trip, can be made to New Song Church and World Outreach.
