In Part 1 of this series, I blogged about the importance of staying focused and a little later, in Part 2, I shared a testimony of a miracle we experienced because we stayed focused.
I’ve started to share four keys to HOW we stay focused in this life with you; the first one is “Stay in the Word.” Today… I am talking about key #2
Stay in Faith
Faith is the currency for Kingdom results!
What is one telltale sign if you’re walking in Faith or not? Take an inventory from time to time to see how much Word is inside you. So how do you do that?
Check your mouth, that’s a sure-fire way to determine if you’re still in Faith. The Bible says in Luke 6:45 that our mouth will speak what our heart believes!
If you’re talking sickness all the time, lack all the time, fear all the time, doubt all the time, and bitterness all the time, then you are actually living in fear and not in Faith. You don’t talk that trash when you’re in Faith. This key goes hand in hand with the 1st one I already mentioned, “Stay in the Word”, you need to fill your spirit with the Word of God in order to “Stay in Faith”.
I’ve learned over the years that you just can’t stop the negative talk and expect things to turn around – you have to replace negative speech with the Word of God and good, Godly confessions.
Matthew 12:43-45, “When a defiling evil spirit is expelled from someone, it drifts along through the desert looking for an oasis, some unsuspecting soul it can bedevil. When it doesn’t find anyone, it says, ‘I’ll go back to my old haunt.’ On return, it finds the person spotlessly clean BUT VACANT. It then runs out and rounds up seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all move in, whooping it up. That person ends up far worse off than if he’d never gotten cleaned up in the first place. That’s what this generation is like. You may think you have cleaned out the junk from your lives and gotten ready for God, but you weren’t hospitable to my kingdom message, and now all the devils are moving back in.”
You can clean it up and make it look all pretty on the surface, but if you’re not filling your life with God’s Word, God’s Righteousness (His way of doing and being right), God’s Kingdom (His domain)… you’ll end up in a place that is worse than where you first began.
What is Faith?
“NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].” Hebrews 11:1
* Faith is not only believing but also acting on what you believe.
* Faith is a practical expression of the confidence you have in God and His Word.
* Faith comes by hearing the Word of God on a continual basis.
* The immovable man is a person of faith, like Abraham, whose faith was counted to him as righteousness.
Abraham was a great man of Faith! He went against everything his senses told him about what was happening in the natural. He was fully persuaded that God was able and mighty to keep His Word and do what He said He would do (read Romans 4:18-25).
The great thing is… it’s never too late for us – to get things turned around and on the right path. God wants us to be people of great Faith! Take Him at His Word and believe, no matter what is currently going on or what we have experienced.
I've been reading these series of posts and have been very encouraged and challenged by your words. Sometimes it takes everything inside of me to stay focused and in faith. Thanks for reminding me why and how to do it.
