Last night we purchased our airfare for our trip to California next week. We got such a good deal, the two of us for a total of just over $500 (cdn) with taxes included, mind you we have to drive to Buffalo… it would have cost us over $1,200 out of Toronto though.

Saturday the 27th, my hubby and I are travelling to an area close to L.A. for our annual “Lead Elders Getaway”. We’ll be shooting the breeze, sharing stories, praying for each other, hearing great messages and prophecies from our fellow pastor friends from all over Canada and the U.S. I so look forward to this time together. Last year Jake was just a wee tiny bundle and he went with us. This is the first trip that we haven’t just weened, just got pregnant or just delivered since 2003!!

We’re going down a couple days early, a bit of a break for the two of us. We’ll be staying (for free) in a hotel in San Diego until the meetings start on Tuesday. We’re taking the first flight home on the following Saturday, we have to be at the airport before 4am, my hubby suggested just sleeping in the waiting room. Yah right! I’m not on the Amazing Race!!

There are a lot of things to get done so that we can go with peace of mind that everything back home is taken care of. The church will be fine – we have a great group of people who have our backs there. It’s the kids. It is making sure meals are prepared and ready for the house sitter to be able to pop into the oven or microwave. She’ll have the two oldest, possibly the 3rd and the 4th is going to my hubby’s sister a few hours north of us. Oh ya, and our international student as well, I have to teach her to cook!

I’m getting very excited!!
