Here are some of my favourite pictures from last night’s New Year’s Eve party at our church. This is my re-invented Father-in-law as Elvis and his body guard. He had everyone rolling on the floor and even a few of us swooned…
What my hubby didn’t know about the 50’s Sock Hop Bash was that it was his surprise 40th birthday party!! I couldn’t post about it because he has taken up reading my blog… He had no clue until I started up the Karaoke portion of the evening with a bad rendition of, “Happy Birthday”. He stood there with his mouth wide open. He wasn’t the only one who was surprised… one of our friends turns 40 the day before my hubby so we surprised him too. It was a very fun evening. We didn’t get home until almost 2am!
My parents took off early. My mom’s back was hurting her. She hurt it a long time ago and from time to time it acts up and tonight was one of those times. We were hoping they’d teach us how to jive. My mom taught me a long time ago, we used to jive in the living room when I was a teenager but I’ve grown two left feet since then. They did manage to take to the floor before she hurt her back, I think it was the Peppermint Twist that actually did her in. They took Jake with them which freed me up for the evening, I was having a hard time keeping up with the event as it was.
I’ll add a few more pictures for you to enjoy in my flickr album (to which I can post so quickly thanks to the new camera my oldest, Q, got for Christmas from my parents!).
Happy New Year!!
