I guess some people didn’t get or like my TT yesterday. Oh well! Good thing I’m not writing to please or humour or entertain anyone out there. For anyone who knows me knows that I have a lot to be thankful for.

I have been married almost 10 years and he is a wonderful man but it hasn’t always been so wonderful. He was raised in a more “male dominated” home i.e. chores seemed to be divided by “woman’s work” or “man’s work”. I wasn’t raised that way. I brought in my fair share of ideas on how this marriage should work (and not all were right). I was highly frustrated with him about 4 years back and he was reaching high frustration levels of his own with regards to his work. Don’t get me wrong, we never fought, and still don’t. It’s hard to explain.

At this time we met a group of people, now friends, who have been an incredible influence on our lives. I love to be around them. They love God with all their hearts and they love their spouse with everything in them. The levels of respect and admiration I see in their marriages astound me. That’s when our lives began to change. My hubby began to change and I began to change too, both of us for the better. When people ask me, “Why do you hang around them (a group of pastors)?” (We lead a church, I’ll tell you about that another time) This is why!

Why everybody wouldn’t want such a great positive influence in their lives and/or marriages, I have no idea??!! Sometimes it actually boggles my mind. It matters who you hang around with (and who you follow), bad company corrupts good character so that means good company has the opposite effect on character = honest, sincere, open, trustworthy…

So yes, I’m thankful for my hubby, the father of my 4 small children and the best friend I have ever had.
