Thanksgiving isn’t a date you cross off on the calendar; it’s about a mindset—a conviction, not a cliché. Even in the hard seasons, I’ve learned to say, thank you. Not because everything goes my way, but because I trust in the goodness of God. Habakkuk 3:16-19 reminds us to rejoice, even when circumstances fall short. Gratitude isn’t naive; it’s bold. It’s not about liking what you get—it’s about anchoring your heart in trust and grace. Today, I’m counting my blessings. My life is shaped by thank you. How about you? Stop right now—take a moment—and share 10 things you’re grateful for. Let’s build a chorus of gratitude together. I’ll go first: 1. The breath in my lungs. 2. My family’s love. 3. It’s not every day you get to meet someone who’s shaped an entire generation of worship! This weekend, I had the honour of learning from Dr. Ron Kenoly at the Ignite Nations Global conference. At nearly 80, after 46 years in ministry and a summer spent in the hospital recovering from two heart surgeries and two lung surgeries, this man showed up. He taught with depth, wisdom, and humility—reminding us what true worship is all about. Last night, to help launch Ignite Global Church with our dear friends Bishops Greg & Diana Gill, he led us in a concert that took us back to the roots of every worship song that filled our churches in the ’90s. It was powerful. Dr. Kenoly’s resilience and his passion for worship is something I won’t forget. He’s lived it, through the highs and lows, and he’s still here, pouring into others. August was a turning point for us. I started a n August was a turning point for us. I started a new role at the Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL) at Trinity Western University, and Dave started something new too... When he retired in 2022 after 35 years of ministry in Ontario, many saw it as a season of “refirement,” not retirement. They were right. After much-needed rest, a lot of 🏡 renovations, and a few bucket list ✈️ trips, he’s now stepped into a role seemingly curated just for him—Pastor of Seniors at Peace Portal Alliance, the church we’ve been attending since our move to BC. 300+ seniors have been waiting for this moment, and we’re ALL excited for what’s ahead.
