This has been a busy busy week and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. I don’t think there’s a day in December that a function, meeting, dinner or performance isn’t going on.
I tend to go full speed ahead in my personal and church life alike. I’ve already lost 2 pounds this week alone. I was reminded that one November a few years ago I ended up at the hospital on an IV drip for dehydration.
This is our schedule next month in a nutshell and I’m probably forgetting something (this is on top — extra — of the usual weekly events like Q’s floor hockey on Tuesdays, church prayer on Wednesdays and Em’s ballet on Thursdays, and of course our regular Sunday morning service):
My hubby does a couple relief shifts at a Christian facility for developmentally challenged adults – his house’s Christmas party is tomorrow night. Sunday night is our church Christmas dinner. Mail out Christmas cards! Next Thursday I have 2 parent / teacher meetings. Friday my hubby goes in for his “snip snip”. The next (Saturday) morning the ladies from church are going out for breakfast and that evening is my work Christmas party. Then Em has a party at a friend’s house on Sunday afternoon. That’s the same evening that we have 2 Japanese students arriving to live with us for 6 days. Monday (11th) I have a party at my supervisor’s house. Wednesday my oldest is performing at school. Friday my only daughter and 3rd kid are performing. At the same time as my kids are singing their hearts out at school — we’re supposed to be at a going away party for our 2 Japanese students – there’s also another function going on that night we’re invited to. The day after they leave, the 17th, our Chinese student flys home and my hubby has to drive her to the airport at 2:30 in the morning. We should have a bit of a break that week leading up to Christmas Day. Maybe that’s when I’ll fit in Christmas shopping. Oh crap — I still have the New Year’s Eve party at the church to plan. AAAHHHH! Boxing day is the best day for deals anyways…
On a lighter note… we picked up the vanity for the main bathroom. The one we ordered was on back order so they gave us the floor model for $80 off the original sale price. I love it! Tomorrow the flooring people are coming here to give us a quote for the Flex C-ment – they’re also giving us a quote for the church entranceway. Next Thursday we’re going down to Ikea to pick up our kitchen cupboards. It looks like we’ll have our space by the time my parents arrive on Boxing Day! 🙂
That makes me very happy!!!!!!!
Hey Shashi – I can sleep anywhere!
Don’t sweat it.
Love

You’d better try to take it easy and not wind up making yourself sick again!
How exciting going to get new kitchen stuff!
well we will watch for signs of dehydration,
more like pray for strength.
You love it but just be honest and ask for help if needed.
oh my gosh…I got tired just reading your list! Don’t forget to take some time to take care of yourself during the busy times!!
