Oh it is so good to be home, even if it is only 7F outside right now!!! And I was complaining that it was only in the 50’s in San Diego!! What a fool was I! As much as it is fun to get away and mingle with other pastors and their wives from around the world there is no place like home.
We were almost stranded in Chicago last night and the thing that upset me the most was that we might not be able to get back to our kids and to our church. We really do love our church. Thankfully we were able to make the last plane leaving for Buffalo. (Smaller) planes were grounded in Chicago because of the extreme cold and wind and planes were not able to land in Buffalo because of the extreme cold, wind and snow. It made for a very long day at O’Hare Airport (the busiest airport in the world). And a very long day for a friend of ours at the Buffalo airport while he waited there all day, seeing flight after flight delay and get cancelled!! Thanks J! When we finally did get a ticket and get on board, we waited for almost two hours at the gate because the gas trucks were frozen and couldn’t re-fuel the plane. That’s cold people! It’s good to be home (even if it was 3am when we crawled into bed…) – and it will be even better when my suitcase with all of my work clothes and shoes arrives… 😉
It was an incredible week, visiting with our friends and making new ones. Hi to our new friends in Hawaii — thanks for the open invitation, you know we’ll use it!!! We were able to get caught up with a lot of good friends who because of busy schedules much like ours haven’t seen each other since last May. We all had our calenders out and were penciling in get togethers for the rest of the year.
I have lots to share with you about our week; lots I have to digest first. I have tons of pictures to put on my flickr as well — when I get my luggage back and get my digital camera out of it…. (never pack your camera in your checked baggage!!) We had an amazing time and can’t wait to see the fruit of it.
Home Sweet Home – now go tell all that I am home!! 😉
Glad that you could make it home. Home is always the best place to be!! Glad you’re back!
We are so Glad to have you back home, and I do agree there is no place like home. Can’t wait to hear all about what happened.
glad that you are home safe and sound and I can’t wait to hear more about your time there!
Welcome home, girl! I love vacations but its always so nice to be home again, right??
I look forward to all you have to tell about your trip & what you learned.
Did you go to the zoo?
Welcome HOME!
Next maybe they can figure out how those occasional cross-country travelers that manage to loose their dog and after months have passed the dog is at the back door scratching to get in:)
