I was unplugged, disconnected, out-of-the-loop last week… my hubby and I were in Los Angeles, California for a conference at Southland’s Church with Dr Michael Eaton, Pastor and humble Master Theologian from Kenya, Africa.

I was digitally-stranded because I wasn’t allowed to take my favourite communication device with me — my iPhone.

My hubby grounded me from it and rightfully so… last time we were in the US and I had access to it… the bill was $1,400! Yes! — that’s right — that is not a typo! $1,400 later due to excessive data roaming charges, is it just Fido or are all Cellular phone companies charlatans?! We even were duped into buying an international package. Who would have known the exorbitant cost of a little facebooking and tweeting here and there would be?!

So needless to say, I missed out on a few things. I did have my laptop with me but Internet connection for my laptop was sparse to say the least. Did you know that they charge for WiFi in US airports!! That’s a true shame – especially since I sat at LAX for 3 hrs waiting for our flight home. I love Canadian airports!!!

I have much to catch up on now. A half-dozen or so books to review, a new Social Media Engagement company to share with you, a couple of social media conferences that I’m attending this month to tell you about and… drumroll please… my oldest son turned 12!!
