This week I’d like to introduce you to Ruth from Mom’s Musings. Ruth and I have known each other, IRL, for fifteen years! WOW, that’s hard to believe. She is one of the reasons I started blogging, starting a Facebook account, started a lot of things actually. In some ways… you have her to thank for me! π
This is going to be fun and not just because I can scour my own personal photo albums for great pictures of her. bwahahahahahaa {insert evil laugh}. Don’t worry, I’ll play nice. This photo my five-year-old took while at a #BlissLunch I hosted a little after Blissdom Canada came to Toronto last year.
I have been through a lot in my life. I had a great life, with some unique experiences and some awful ones. All of my past has brought me to become who I am today. I wouldn’t change anything that I have gone through, no matter how difficult it was. I believe that what doesn’t kill us only makes us stronger. I believe in a strong family. I work in a group home with some amazingly exceptional people. My youngest daughter has a brain injury from birth. Some days the glass is half full while other days it is half empty. I am learning to navigate the waters of special needs parenting. My faith is growing all the time. I have a lot of questions sometime. I love to write and will one day write a book. Not sure what it will be about yet.
I am a Christian. I love God. I love my husband. I love my kids. I love the chaos that we call our life.
Coffee drinker? Yuck…
Even though I should flog you for that answer… I know you LOOOVE Iced Cappuccino’s from Tim Horton’s. That be good enough to let you continue here. π
1) What drew you to blogging? I wanted a place to store my family memories… and I really love writing, so I thought it would be a great outlet for me too.
2) How do you characterize yourself? Hm… lately? I have been asking myself this same question. I guess you could say I am a woman who is on a journey to figure out how I characterize myself. π
3) What did you want to be when you were little? A mommy
4) Are you married? Kids? Married 16 years with 5 kids on earth {15 y/o boy, 13, 9, 6, and 3 y/o girls} and 1 baby girl born to Heaven.
5) If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Everyday I dream that I can take time away from my real life and live in a pretend world where no one is whining or crying… so, I guess I would like to have transporting powers…
6) Favourites:
- Food – Yes… OK, Pasta
- Colour – Black (I know it is not technically a colour…but it is still my answer)
- Movie – A toss up between Ferris Buellers Day Off and Little Miss Sunshine
- Book – Hm… I don’t have time to read anymore π {But Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut was a fave book of my past}
