I arrived in New York City a couple of days before PayPal’s BIG event so I could explore the Big Apple on my own. Monday, July 20, 2015, they were ringing the NASDAQ Stock Market opening bell and I was invited.
The celebrations began with a cocktail meet and greet, followed by dinner with a select few. PayPal’s CEO Dan Schulman was there to shine and share his excitement with us. It took me a little while to realize how big a deal this was, for me to be there, only 45 executives, staff, merchants, and consumers from around the world were flown in to celebrate this glorious day and I was one of them.
Monday morning a sea of blue descended upon Times Square.
While Dan is taking a group selfie… that’s me at the very back… perched high for all to see… taking my own picture of the crowd below. It was a beautiful day, the Square was filled with hundreds of excited PayPal representatives inviting the public to join in on the festivities. They were handing out donuts and iced coffees galore. They had a photo booth set up to get your picture taken, and a few of us ended up with our faces on a Times Square billboard!!
The place was buzzing! They are thrilled to be an independent company again. The excitement was extremely contagious. My cheeks were sore from all the ear to ear smiling I did. I couldn’t help myself. This was a moment I would never forget. This was a weekend I would never forget.
That’s me, 5th over from Dan on his right. 🙂
Look for PYPL on the Stock Market and buy shares! It’s an incredible company with HUGE plans for growth and HUGE plans for the new-money world we’re in.
