‘Tis the season… TO ENTERTAIN!!
I am getting ready for one of my favourite Christmas parties with my girlfriends. Each year, for the last 5 years, we’ve gotten together to put on a “5 Favourite Things” party. This year we’re having it at my church because we invited our teenaged daughters to join us and my living room is just not big enough.
The premise is simple…. find your favourite item which costs $5 and buy it 5 times. Wrap each gift up separately for 5 people, bring your nibbles, and have fun. When you arrive, write your name down 5 times on 5 separate pieces of paper and put them in the hat. Once everyone arrives, pass the hat around, each person takes 5 pieces of paper (5 different names, never your own). Each person gets a turn handing out their 5 Favourite Things to the 5 names they pulled from the hat. At the end of the party each person goes home with 5 different gifts.
I have my 5 Favourite Things, I just need to wrap them, and for my nibbles… something with CHEESE please!
I’ll be entertaining with Pepperoni Pizza-Stuff Mushrooms!
What you’ll need:
20 large fresh mushrooms (1lb / 450g), cleaned, stems & gills removed
3 Tbsp pizza sauce
150g Cracker Barrel Monterey Jack (or you can make it with Mozzarella Cheese like the recipe on the Kraft site suggests), cut into 20 (3/4-inch) cubes
5 slices, pepperoni, quartered
What you’ll do:
Heat oven to 450F
Place on wire rack, over foil-covered rimmed baking sheet; place mushrooms, caps side up, on rack.
Bake 15 minutes. Drain mushrooms on paper towel-covered plate (don’t skip this step, it’s a bit messy but necessary). Remove wire rack and discard foil (with brown mushroom liquid) from baking sheet.
Return mushrooms to baking sheet (without rack). Spoon pizza sauce into mushrooms; top with cheese and pepperoni.
Bake 10 mins or until cheese is melted (and it’s heated through).
My church Christmas banquet is coming up too and for that I have purchased all the ingredients for a Cheese Ball, this one has a little kick to it…. Jalapeño Bacon Party Cheese Ball with Philadelphia Jalapeño cream cheese!!!
I can’t wait to get my party on!
I’m so thankful to be a part of Kraft Canada What’s Cooking Ambassadorship. I love the new recipes I get to try and share with you and not just for the compensation I receive. All of my family participates when it’s #whatscooking time! 🙂
