Last month, I had the joy of hosting a VIP screening of THE FORGE movie in Langley, BC, (thanks to Graf-Martin and Faith Films) and let me tell you—it was amazing! We had people laughing, clapping, and cheering, and even a standing ovation at the end. When Priscilla Shirer and Karen Abercrombie (Yes! Miss Clara from WAR ROOM) came on screen, the audience couldn’t contain their excitement. I could feel how much everyone was soaking it in, with some of the crowd shouting, “AMEN!” during the more powerful scenes.
THE FORGE isn’t just a feel-good movie—it’s the kind of film that sticks with you.
It tells the story of Isaiah (played by Aspen Kennedy), a teen facing those big “what’s next?” questions after high school. If you’ve got teenagers like I do, this will hit home. It reminded me of my own youngest sons who are going through their own set of challenges. One of the moments that got everyone (including my husband!) was when Cameron Arnett’s character, Joshua Moore, said the line towards the end of the film, “A man stands in front of me.” Oh my goodness, it was such a tear-jerker.

But what I love about this movie is how it doesn’t just stop at telling a story. People left the screening feeling like they wanted to DO something. Many of them were talking about starting Forge mentoring groups in their churches and communities, which is exactly what this film is all about—taking that inspiration and putting it into action. The message of the gospel is clear, and it’s one of those films that leaves you feeling lighter, hopeful, and ready to make a difference.
If you were a fan of WAR ROOM, THE FORGE is a must-see.
And here’s the thing—opening weekend is huge for faith-based films. Going to see it right away sends a message that we want more films like this in Canada, so grab your family, your friends, or even your neighbours, and let’s show up on August 23, 2024. You’re going to love it, and you’ll leave feeling completely inspired.
